Letters From A Psychopath

bronson2dm_228x345
As post bags go, this personal threat from Britian’s most notorious prisoner, Charles Bronson, has to be one of my favourites. Bronson was imprisoned for seven years in 1974, yet his sentence has been repeatedly extended for crimes committed within prison, which include wounding with intent, wounding, criminal damage, grievous bodily harm, false imprisonment, blackmail and threatening to kill. The 2009 film, ‘Bronson’, is a violent biopic of his life.

Letters To Loaded no.4

Is this the greatest pitch document of all time?  This letter from potential Loaded journalist ‘Woohoo Woowee,’ begins:

“Dear Loaded, I have included a photocopy of a letter I have just delivered to Fulham Broadway. Do you fancy a new colum [sic] writer? Here is my phone number. If you do, just text me “loaded”. I will text you my account details in return.”

I don’t remember a former editor called Brommel Rooney…perhaps a pen-name of  James Brown? Nevertheless, the attached letter to Waitrose was more pure madness.

I always try and figure out if the writer’s prison is low category or not. But then you never can tell if you’re sending posters of young models off to a convicted paedophile. Anyway, were suckers for flattery and he clearly loves the magazine…

I think for the boys who work in the Tank Transporter regiment of the British Army in Afghanistan, we can find a few posters and issues of Loaded. Actioned already! About. Turn!

Letters To Loaded no.1

We get letters from all sorts at Loaded. A lot of squaddies write from Afghanistan, and we always respond with girly posters and old issues to relieve their boredom. We also get letters from prisoners. I’ve wrestled for years whether we should send stuff in to clink: I mean, I’d hate to reward someone who’s just robbed a pensioner at knifepoint. Then again, there’s a lot of innocent chaps behind bars. Anyway, here’s one such writing.
